Privacy Policy

The short version
MindMingl does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. You do not create an account. What you type into the search is used only to find your matches — it is never saved to our database. Contact details you share when reaching out to a therapist go directly to that therapist and are not stored by us.
No accounts, no profiles
Clients using MindMingl do not create accounts and do not log in. We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information simply from using the search. There is no client database. Nothing about you is stored on our servers.
What you type in the search
When you describe what you're going through, that text is sent in real time to OpenAI's API to generate a match. It is not saved to our database. Once your results are returned, the text is discarded.
OpenAI data handling
OpenAI's API retains inputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, as described in their API Data Usage Policy. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models. Your description is never used to improve AI products.
When you contact a therapist
If you fill out the contact form and click Send, your name, email address, phone number, and message are sent directly to the therapist's email inbox. This information is not stored in our database and is not visible to MindMingl staff.
Email delivery (Resend)
We use Resend to deliver emails. Resend temporarily logs sent emails as part of standard delivery infrastructure. Once delivered, this data is subject to Resend's Privacy Policy. Your message becomes a private communication between you and the therapist.
Location data
If you use the “Use my location” feature, your coordinates are used only to identify your city and province for the matching search. They are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim API for reverse geocoding and are not stored by us.
Therapist data
Therapists who create a profile on MindMingl do provide personal and professional information (name, credentials, license details, contact email, photo). This data is stored securely in our database and used solely to power the matching service and display public profiles to clients. We do not sell therapist data.
Cookies and analytics
MindMingl does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics tools on the client-facing site. We do not track you across the web.
Your rights
Because we do not store client data, there is nothing for us to provide or delete. Therapists may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their profile data at any time.

HIPAA compliance
MindMingl is HIPAA compliant.
MindMingl is built on HIPAA-eligible infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). We maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect any health-related information that may be shared on our platform. Our infrastructure includes encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and audit logging consistent with HIPAA requirements.
As MindMingl does not store client intake text or session communications in our own databases (see sections above), the primary data we hold under HIPAA obligations is therapist professional information. Therapists are independent practitioners responsible for their own HIPAA compliance in delivering care.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review it periodically.
